Green everywhere :)

Life is so fun during the summer! I love how sunny it is and I just want to be outside all the time. It makes me sooo happy :) The trees are getting so green. I even have a perfect view of the mountains from my apt and they look so beautiful. Sometimes I take for granted how much beauty there is in this world. Danny has taught me to appreciate nature. He grew up in Seattle where everything is always green. He can see so much beauty in a simple flower and he loves staring at big green trees. I am starting to look at nature in a different way. It just reminds me of the love that Heavenly Father has for us. He sent us to this BEAUTIFUL world. Every plant is His own creation.

A couple of weeks ago, I told Danny that I wanted to go out and take pictures of something pretty. He thought about it for a minute and he told me he had the perfect place for me. He took me this trail called Lovers' Lane Trail. When we got there everything was just full of plants. He was so excited so see so much green there was around us. I wasn't  sure what to take pictures of because everything was seriously just green. At first I thought it was a little boring but as we went on I could see so many little things that were so beautiful. There were different kinds of leaves and little flowers. I was so excited just enjoy the moment. I'm so grateful for nature and the little things that my wonderful husband teaches me.

Scott's big day!

This morning I went through some pictures that I took months ago! I found some old ones.... I totally forgot about them! I need to find some time to edit them. Today I finished editing some graduation pictures. Since school started I haven't had a lot of time to edit photos. I just wanted to post a few though. They are photos of Scott and his family. My nephew looks soooo cute! Seriously... I was in love with all his little faces. He was so smiley in all of them (even though he wasn't really looking at the camera).

A little bit of everything...

I haven't had time to write in this blog for a little while. I've been working a lot on my art projects. I'm taking a Digital Illustration class that requires a lot of time. My first assignment was due last week and my second one is due this Thursday. We use Illustrator and Photoshop for our assignments. I don't have either of those programs in my computer... they are super expensive. So I have to go to campus to be able to work on my assignment. It's a little annoying because I can't do anything when I'm at home. I'm thinking about getting myself a new Mac and buying all the programs that I need. It would make my life easier and I would be able to work better anytime I want. We'll see what happens. Learning to use the programs has been soooo much fun! I love it. I can't wait to be really good at it and be able to create anything I want. I LOVE my major so much! I just checked my grade for my last assignment. I got a 92! Second highest grade in the class :) The highest grade was a  94. The best part is that we can keep working on our projects if we want a higher grade. Cool huh!
My assignment for this week is a little tricky. Our professor gave us a fortune cookie. We have to do an editorial piece on what our fortune cookie said. Mine was "Your judgement is a little off at this time." haha I can pretty much do anything. I had so many ideas of what I could do but I just wasn't very happy with any of them. I made a couple of final compositions to show my professor tomorrow. Talking to her always makes me feel more confident.

I've been having so much fun. I love spring semester! It's the best :) I bet a lot of people are having lots of fun too. There is so much to do!!!! So a couple of weeks ago I posted something about talents in this blog. That kept me thinking about my own talents and what to do to be better. Here are some of my thoughts: I'm majoring in art which means that I've been developing this talent and I always want to get better at it. But what about other talents that I haven't been able to develop yet? I know that developing talents is very important. That's the reason why our Heavenly Father gave us some talents. We need to develop them, we need to get better and use those talents to help others. I believe that we can learn new things, even things that we are not good at. So my goal is to try new things every time. Danny and I are going to try to find new activities that will help us learn new things. I don't want to do the same kind of activity over and over again when their is a billion of new things that we can try! I don't always want to go watch a movie for fun, or to a concert or dancing or any other thing that we do pretty often. Don't get me wrong... sometimes I will want to just watch a movie, but for the most part I want to learn new things and be able to enjoy them. If you have ideas of activities that we can learn please let me know!!! We seriously want to try anything. As far as right now, Danny is helping me how to run better. I've been running a couple of times and I want to be better. (For those who know me well, you know how much I hate running so this is something that I don't enjoy very much but I know that if I keep doing it I will learn to like it.... Hopefully). Hiking is another thing that I'm going to get better at. Good thing it's summer time!!!! Danny and I also tried something new. Last week we decided to do a puzzle that had 1000 pieces. It was way fun. Something that I hadn't done in a very long long time. I had forgotten how much I enjoy doing puzzles. Right after spring semester ends, we are going camping with some friends. Time to learn about nature I guess. I'm a little nervous. Danny says that I haven't gone REAL camping yet lol. I guess Young Women's camp wasn't good enough haha.
Anyways.... if you have any ideas of things that we can learn to do or if you want to join us for anything let me know :)

Yesterday was such a nice day. I love Sundays. They are my favorite. I get to spend all day with my husband and I get to eat dinner with my brother. Danny and I are primary teachers. We taught about prayer yesterday and it was so nice to hear all the comments from our 5/6 year old kids. They are very smart :) After we are done with the lesson we give them something to color (some picture that is related to the lesson). They usually don't have enough time to finish it and when their parents come to pick them up, they never want to leave. It's cute. I love those kids :) We are done with church at 4pm. Perfect time to get home to make dinner. I love Sunday dinner... mainly because we make something delicious and my brother eats with us too. Yesterday I made pork chops. It turned out pretty good. Then we had FHE with my family. Because they don't live here we just skype with them and we take turns to teach the lesson. Yesterday my grandma gave the lesson on the Plan of Salvation. After FHE we just chilled for a little. Then we made some cupcakes for my friend Kristen. It was her birthday. She was one of my old roommates a few years ago. She is such a nice girl. Every time she sees me she tells me how much she misses me and is always so happy to see me. Danny and I took the cupcakes to her apartment after their ward prayer. We didn't know that their ward (my old ward) was having linger longer at her place. I got to see Kristen and a lot of people from my old ward. I really miss them. It's so nice when people get excited to see Danny and I. It made me very happy. After linger longer, Danny and I went on a nice walk. I love walks with my husband. We had a nice conversation :)

Good news! I get to see my family in less than 2 weeks! I'm going to Texas for a couple of days to take care of some stuff and I'm also going to be there for my friend Tara's wedding! I'm so excited for her. She's such a wonderful person. I met her my freshman year in high school.... like 8 years ago! It's been a while... and now she's getting married :)

Free time?!

It's so good to be busy with things that I actually want to do. Danny and I moved to our new apartment. We are loving it so far. It's so fun to decorate as much as I can. Yesterday we went to the store. I wanted to buy a centerpiece for our coffee table. I found something really cute and Danny helped me find other things that could go with it. It was so nice to have him there with me to buy things for our apt. I LOVE being married! It's the best :) We still have a lot to do. Everything is still pretty messy and we have to go through a few boxes and get rid of lots and lots of stuff. We are doing a lot better than last time though... hahah...thank goodness.

Spring semester started this week. I'm taking a digital illustration class. It's great! I'm so excited to learn. We are going to be using Illustrator and Photoshop to create our pieces. I haven't done any digital media since sophomore year in High School. Crazy huh!? haha it's been over 6 years. Yeah....i don't really remember how to use those programs anymore. I really like my professor. She actually teaches how to use every tool. I've had professor that don't really teach the basics, they just expect you to know some stuff. So I really enjoy going to class because I don't feel lost. That's the only class I'm taking. It's nice to not have a billion things to do for school.

I've also been busy editing pictures that I took last week for my friend Christine. They turned out pretty good. I got to spend several hours in the library working on them this week. SO FUN! seriously! Having free time is the best! Now I need to start working on Scott's pictures. It should go faster. I didn't take too many pictures of him. I've notice that art in general makes me so happy. I'm so grateful for our knowledge and our ability to learn. I'm grateful for our many talents :)

Here are a couple of pictures that I worked on this week. Christine is such a beautiful girl...it makes it so easy to enjoy taking pictures!
